See tips for before the conference

See tips for during the conference

Welcome Home from the NALP Annual Education Conference!

Now that you are back at work, this tip sheet is designed to help you turn the ideas, connections, and inspiration from the AEC into meaningful next steps. Whether you are new to NALP or attending your first Annual Education Conference, the suggestions below are intended to help you stay connected, deepen your involvement, and build on the momentum you gained at the conference.

First Steps: Your First Week Back

  1. Review your notes to refresh your memory on the ideas from conference sessions that you wanted to share or implement with your team.

  2. Keep your conference materials as reference tools. They include valuable contacts and the names of subject matter experts who may be helpful as new issues arise. Program handouts are also a useful resource and will be available in the conference app and on the NALP website.

Next Steps: Your First Month Back

  1. Reconnect with people you met at the conference through NALPconnect and LinkedIn. Consider scheduling coffee or lunch with contacts from your area or a Zoom call with someone you met from another city.

  2. Confirm that you are an active NALP member and that you are receiving all NALP communications, including NALPnow!, Bulletin+, the weekly Industry News Digest, and other updates. For assistance, contact info@nalp.org.

  3. Get more involved in NALP by joining sections and affinity groups on NALPconnect and attending meetings once dates and links are posted.

  4. Participate in Regional Meetings when dates and links are shared in NALPnow!.

Sustained Engagement the Months Ahead

  1. Consider submitting a panel proposal for the 2027 AEC in Seattle. Proposals are due July 1. You may also explore opportunities to get involved in your region or within a section.

  2. Think about writing an article for the NALP Bulletin+ on a topic of interest to you. To discuss ideas, contact Cindy Stevens at cstevens@nalp.org to discuss!

Start with one or two manageable actions and revisit this list over time to continue building on the momentum from your Annual Education Conference experience.
